Opening ceremony of the 27th Edition of Ecomondo, the international fair dedicated to the green and circular economyorganized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), which will be held at the Rimini Exhibition Center from November 5 to 8.
With more than 1,600 exhibiting brands, buyers from more than 100 countries and 72 international organizations, institutions and trade associations, this event shows a global commitment to sustainability. The exhibition space has been expanded with two new pavilions, built to meet strong demand, and hosts an extensive program of more than 200 meetings, conferences and workshops coordinated by the Scientific Technical Committee of Ecoworld.
In his opening remarks, Maurizio Renzo Ermeti, president of IEG, highlighted: «The journey of Ecoworldwhich began as Ricicla in 1997, has seen notable growth and success, establishing itself as the leading annual meeting for the green and circular economy. Today, Ecomondo offers an unparalleled international platform that brings together industries, stakeholders, policy makers, researchers, institutions, companies and associations, all united by a shared commitment to environmental sustainability”.

Among the highlights of Ecoworldthere is the 13th edition of the General States of the Green Economyorganized by the National Council for the Green Economy and the Foundation for Sustainable Developmentin collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and the European Commission. The State of the Green Economy Report 2024, presented this morning in Ecoworldoffers an updated view of Italian and international advances and challenges in critical areas such as decarbonization, the circular economy and energy efficiency. In particular, Italy confirms a reduction in CO₂ emissions of more than 6% (the most significant decrease in decades), leadership in the circular economy (€3.6 of GDP for each kg of resources consumed) and an increase in organic agriculture. Persistent challenges, such as land use and sustainable mobility, are among the key topics for debate and innovation in Ecoworld.
