Homeward Bound is a global transformational leadership initiative dedicated to support Stemm women and has sailed with 124 women and non -binary leaders in a historical expedition towards Antarctica, with the aim of inspiring actions of Collective leadership with the goal of addressing sustainability issues.
The MS Island Sky departed from Ushuaia, Argentina, on Tuesday, January 28 (art), For the seventh annual Homeward Bound expedition. The expedition to Antarctica Homeward Bound 8 has begun, promoted by ACCIONA, in which 124 scientific women and technologists will travel to the icy continent. In this edition Eight Spanish women participate: Edith Guedella Bustamante (Environmental Biologist responsible for sustainability of the Acciona Construction Area), María González Fajardo (Caminos Engineer in ACCION), Marta Crespo (engineer and head of photovoltaic technology in acting energy), Alba Fernández Sanlés (molecular biologist) , Paula Moraga Serrano (Professor of Statistics at the Rey Abdullah University of Science and Technology), Rosa Castizo (director of the observatory “La Rábida” of sustainable development and climate change), Anna González Manjón (molecular biologist).
The meteorologist Mercedes Martín also travels with them, with the aim of contributing to the dissemination of both the Homeward Bound program itself, as of the problem of global warming, made visible in Antarctica.
