Extremadura: The 2nd edition of the ‘Table of Fire’ was inaugurated today

The Minister of Forestry and Rural Mundo has opened today the Second edition of the Table of Fire, an organ of analysis and debate about the problem of forest fires In the region. Higuero has been accompanied by the Director General of Fire Prevention and Extinction, José Antonio Bayón, and the Secretary General of Interior, Emergencies and Civil Protection, Fernando Manzano.

This initiative, promoted by the Extremadura Government of President María Guardiola, responds to the Executive’s commitment to the conservation of the extraordinary forest mass of the region. This year, the Table of Fire has three round tables with topics of great news; two during morning and one during the evening, discussing in the first one the coordination of the Autonomous Communities in the extinction of forest fires, addressing the performance in bordering fires, conditions and experiences with the participation of technical directors of the devices of Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, Andalucía and Miteco.

The second of the tables focuses onctivities susceptible to generating forest fires and their causalityaddressing the investigation of preventive causes and measures with the participation of representatives of the Fire Prevention Section of Extremadura, Seprona, agents of the natural environment and Electric Red of Spain.

The third and last of the tables revolves around resilient landscapes to forest fires Deepening activities that reduce the burden of fuel in the mountains, such as the Mosaic project and the burns prescribed with the participation of speakers from the University of Extremadura, University of Vigo, University of Lleida and INFOEX.
