In a time marked by climate change, resource crisis and accelerated loss of biodiversity, the transformation of development models is no longer a choice but a necessity. At the start the “Sustainable development prize”
At the center of this transition there are three fundamental axes: circular economy, decarbonisation e restoration of nature. These are the themes around which the 15th edition of the “Sustainable development award 2025”promoted by Foundation for sustainable development In collaboration with Ecomondo – Italian Exhibition Group.
Circular economy: transform waste into value
The paradigm ofcircular economy overturn the linear logic of “Produci-Consuma-Smaltisci” typical of the twentieth century. In this regenerative model, the waste becomes resources, the products are designed to last longer, be repaired, reused and finally recycled.
This would reduce the extraction of raw materials, would cut emissions and stimulate innovative supply chains. Investing in circular economy means promoting not only environmental sustainability, but also economic resistance and new job opportunities.
Decarbonization: reset emissions to save the climate
The fight against climate change passes through the process of decarbonisation. This means the gradual elimination of fossil sources in favor of clean energy. This is an important goal that involves all sectors such as industry, mobility, building, agriculture. A technological and cultural transformation to improve energy efficiency, electrify consumption, invest in renewable sources, but also to rethink habits, infrastructures and lifestyles.
Restoration of nature: regenerate to survive
Over the last century, vital ecosystems have been degraded or destroyed. The restoration of naturefrom forests to waterways, from agricultural soils to urban areas, it is a fundamental strategy to guarantee not only environmental protection but also protect public health with consequent improvement in people’s quality of life.
Il “Sustainable development award 2025”: recognize Italy that changes
