The National Parks Autonomous Organization (OAPN), dependent on the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), and SEO/BirdLife, have activated this Friday a webcam that broadcasts live to you of the permanent lagoon of Tablas de Daimiel National Park.
The ecological characteristics of this space, in the floodplain of the Guadiana River, close to the Molemocho mill, attract numerous species of birds associated with water, some of which are threatened with extinction, such as the brown pochard or the reed bunting. The presence of the red duck, an icon of the national park, the wild duck, the teal, the greylag geese and herons is also common.
The new camera that will broadcast in real time is the fifth that SEO/BirdLife has installed in the National Parks Network to broadcast live the daily life of representative wild animals. On this occasion the camera location It coincides with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Las Tablas de Daimiel National Park, which is jointly managed by the OAPN and the Community Council of Castilla la Mancha.
This webcam It is a symbolic representation of the capacity of Daimiel’s tables to accommodate interesting aquatic fauna when conditions are favorable, it claims its value as a Ramsar wetland of international importance and special protection area for birds of the Natura 2000 network.
The new live view of the national park can be realized from the official OAPN and SEO video channels. Thanks to this initiative, a new window opens on this La Mancha wetland and the valuable wildlife that regularly visits or inhabits it.
