Factorenergia focuses on digitized ‘Solar Communities’

The energy company Factor energy took part in the Catalan stand of the Generalitat of Catalonia during the 13th edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress. She did this together with twenty other companies from the technology sector that presented themselves projects developed entirely in Catalonia.

The energy consumption of the future of 21st century cities Factor energy, who presented his vision sustainable and energy efficient citiesbased on its energy digitalization project to promote solar communities.

While participating in the event, Antoni Franquesa, Director of the Energy Transition Department of Factor energy, explained how the Solar Communities model can drive decarbonization in urban areas and accelerate the transition to a cleaner energy future. This project, which will be exhibited together with other technology companies in the region on the Catalan stand of the Generalitat de Catalunya, strengthens the Factorenergia’s commitment to the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for cities of the 21st century.

In his speech, Franquesa presented the collaboration of Factor energy with Blockchain Digital Energy to increase energy efficiency in solar communities committed to the collective self-consumption of energy through the creation of an innovative device that digitalizes energy using blockchain technology. This device is integrated together with the Factorenergia app in self-consumption facilities to monitor the energy consumption data of each home and facility accurately and in real time, providing detailed and individualized information to each participant in their collective self-consumption project.

“In Factor energy We have been at the forefront of the energy transition for 25 years, not only promoting the adoption of solar communities, but also implementing blockchain technology to optimize and digitalize collective self-consumption. We believe that these types of technological advances are critical to building the cities of the future, and we will continue to work to make cities accessible and accessible. efficient renewable energy throughout Spain» declared Antoni Franquesa.

Valencia and Barcelona: Success Stories from Factorenergia

Factor energy has developed more than forty projects in Spanish territory to promote the energy transition through solar communities. Among the company’s success stories, Franquesa has presented two active installations in La Pobla de Claramunt, in the province of Barcelona, with a power of 123.5 kWp; and in Paterna, in the province of Valencia, with a capacity of 115.5 kWp and that is possible provide electricity to more than 100 families each.

In addition to these two success stories, there are also pilot projects in which blockchain technology has been implemented in Barcelona, such as the residential development of La Mallola, in Esplugues de Llobregat, with 14 collective self-consumption and a total peak power of 511.11 kWp, serving more than 150 neighbors; two public buildings, the Institut Torrent dels Alous and the Rubí Courts, located within a radius of 2 kilometers.

They share the energy generated in the panels installed on the roof of the institute; and at industrial level, the implementation of collective self-consumption in the Almeda industrial park in Cornellà del Llobregat, with a three-phase installation for individual self-consumption with an installed peak power of 80 kWp.

Blockchain technology

Blockchain technology offers users and participants several attributes, such as providing individualized and real-time insight into the performance of self-consumption facilities, being 100% agnostic to the participating user’s marketing company, being compatible with 100% of photovoltaic panel manufacturers , be the first device to record the user’s energy balance via blockchain, integrate the performance of the installation for own consumption with multiple interfaces and facilitate the technology for deploying P2P transactions via blockchain between participating users of a self-consumption facility.

«Blockchain technology provides insight into the net balance of the energy imported/exported to the grid and generates a transaction report that, thanks to the use of blockchain technology, is immutable and perpetual, providing reliability and trust to users,” said Antoni Franquesa.

Factor energy recently presented the project she is planning accelerate the energy transition in Spain thanks to more than 40 solar installations. They will supply hundreds of homes and businesses in Barcelona and Valencia and will use blockchain technology, among other things.
