“Energy communities not only result in economic benefits for the members of these communities by reducing their energy bills, but also with them Social and environmental benefits are also achieved«, stated the General Manager of Industry, Energy and Mining, Raquel Pastor.
Plasencia thus joins other cities in Extremadura, such as Almendralejo, Villanueva de la Serena or Badajoz, who have also signed this agreement with AGENEX Unpleasant promote energy communities in their municipalities. “Ultimately there will be seven Extremaduran municipalities with which this agreement can be signed AGENEX because they have more than 20,000 inhabitants,” says Raquel Pastor, general manager of Industry, Energy and Mining.
The difference between an energy community and shared self-consumption lies in the legal formula in which the energy community must be a legal entity “since this is a somewhat more complicated formula for citizens, which we will have in every town hall technicians specialized in energy communities helping citizens with their needs in creating these communities,” said the CEO.
AGENEX OTC
AGENEX created the OTC of Extremadura last March as a physical and virtual space dedicated to encouraging the creation of local energy communities among the Extremadura municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants.
To do this, it provides free dissemination services, through courses, workshops and information days; guidance for those interested in the process of community building; and administrative, legal, economic and technical advice.
In addition, this agency will also try to create a cooperation network that functions between the communities that are formed, to facilitate the exchange of experiences and expand future synergies between them.
