AMECO: unstoppable growth of the ‘Environmental Education in 2024-2025’

AMECO is the Environmental Association for Conservation of Plants and Animals. It was constituted in 2012 by a group of young people very concerned about the serious current environmental situation. To that end, they made the decision to gather strength and set a series of objectives to improve their surroundings, taking part in public life as an association.

Since then, Ameco works in order to revitalize the conservation of green spaces. He has contributed new ideas to improve the rural and urban natural environment. And bet on the awareness about the value of the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park. One of its pillars is environmental education.

AMECO and his commitment to environmental education

The AMECO environmental association continues its unstoppable growth in its commitment to environmental education, achieving a historical record in the number of students served and in the diversity of activities offered. To date, the balance of the 2024-2025 course reflects a significant advance in its program, aimed at Sensitize and educate the youngest about the importance of caring for the environment.

Within the framework of this program, AMECO has taught a total of 19 different workshops for students of primary and secondary education centers. These workshops, designed to be dynamic and educational, cover key issues such as recycling, biodiversity, climate change and responsible consumptionamong others.

This impressive growth not only reflects the great demand for this type of training, but also the Positive impact of the association on the environmental education of the town. Until January 31, 2025, AMECO has managed to serve more 6,000 students, a number that exceeds initial expectations and continues to increase.

Thanks to the dedication of the AMECO team, which has grown this year with 2 monitors employed and 2 external monitors hired, the association has been able to expand its coverage, guaranteeing personalized and quality attention to each participating group.
