Puglia in one recording: the 16th edition of the photo competition is underway “Walking between the geological landscapes of Puglia”
Colors, rocks, fossils and shapes cut over time: Puglia’s Geological Beauty returns to the spotlights with a competition that is open to everyone.
Puglia is much more than villages of sea and postcard villages. His heart hides a surprising variety of landscapes that are modeled throughout the centuries through nature and humans. Winding hills, the “Tavoliere” And old kisses tell geological stories that deserve to be photographed, shared and improved.
Exactly for this reason the 16th edition of the photo competition was born Walk between the geological landscapes of PugliaPhD by Siga-aps and the order of geologists from Puglia.
Record the beauty of the earth
The purpose of the competition is clear: to promote the Apulian geological heritage, made from access fires, unique minerals, fossils, geosites and natural cavities. Shots that not only tell the beauty of nature, but also the millennial adjustment of people to his territory.
More and more people are fascinated by shapes that look like abstract designs, intense colors and structures that speak of distant eras. And all this deserves to be told through photography.
There are four sections:
A. “Geological landscapes or geosites”dedicated to places, landscapes, geological places where the represented forms are determined by the geological elements of the site;
B. “Geology before and after the man”dedicated to anthropic works that integrate into the geological or geomorphological context;
C. “A look at the Micromondo or Geology”dedicated to the closing of photos of paleontological, sedimentological or petrographic elements, for example in macro photography or microscope.
D) “Geology from above”dedicated to filming from above, with a drone, of geological elements of the landscape.
A section dedicated to the landscape “Modeled”
One of the most interesting innovations of this edition is a special section dedicated to the forms of anthropic modeling. An invitation to think about the relationship between humans and the environment, in particular with fundamental elements such as rock and water. A dialogue between nature and the culture of Reinterpret in a sustainable key.
Prices, agenda and visibility
The competition will grant thirteen photos: the first three classified for each section, plus that opted for the cover of the 2026 calendar.
The winning photos are selected by a technical jury and published on the official sites. They become the protagonists of the calendar “Geologists and Territory 2026”, Connected to the period of the same name and divided into the public offices of the region.
Every rewarded author also receives a purchase voucher of 100 euros, offered by the Apoo SRL Company.
