A week dedicated to the future of the planet

Seven places symbol for the climate

The activities of the Venice Climate Week will take place in symbolic locations of the lagoon city: the Ca ‘Foscari University, the IUAV, the Corders of the Arsenal, Ocean Space, the old procuratie, the M9 museum in Mestre and Casa Sanlorenzo. The latter, recently restored by Piero Lissoni, will host the Sanlorenzo Talks, meetings dedicated toenvironmental innovation.

Jeremy Rifkin and the Blue Deal

To inaugurate the event will be Jeremy Rifkineconomist and theorist of sustainability, with a lectio magistralis entitled Planet Aqua. Rifkin will be the protagonist of several moments, including a visit to Sea Beyond Ocean Literacy Centreon the island of San Servolo. Carlo Bagnoli, director of Venisia, will present the Future Farming Initiative project, «who radically rethink the relationship between nature, technology and production of materials: a sustainable, replicable and visionary model, capable of equipping the planet without destroying it».

Young people as a change engine

The young people will be the beating heart of the event thanks to the Climate Shapers project, a training course that involves them as facilitators, curators and speakers. Selected and trained in an intensive program from January to June 2025, the climate Shapers will follow each session, collect ideas and summarize the key messages to ensure a lasting impact.

Conclusion “How we will go out”

On June 8, at the M9 auditorium in Mestre, at the end of the event, a public assembly will be held entitled “How we will go out.” Conducted by journalists Ferdinando Cotugno and Fabio Deotto, on climate change.
