The shareholders of Grupo TERSA have set up 3 new metropolitan municipalities to access the offer Barcelona Energy and others energy services offered by the company. These are: Torrelles de Llobregat, Santa Coloma de Cervelló and Pallejà.
Energy for Barcelona
In 2024, Grupo TERSA, the listed company specialized in the management of environmental services related to the circular economy, has included three new metropolitan councils in its shareholders. These are Pallejà, Santa Coloma de Cervelló and Torrelles de Llobregat. In this way, municipalities can gain access to the supply of 100% renewable energy Barcelona Energia, the public energy marketer of the Barcelona metropolitan area, not only benefits from other energy services provided by the company, including the execution of orders on the comprehensive management of photovoltaic installations.
Thanks to these agreements, which were formalized in the last quarter of this year, Barcelona Energia will include 187 public supply points, including 80 in Pallejà, 48 Santa Coloma de Cervelló and 59 additional points in Torrelles de Llobregat. The public marketer will therefore supply a total of 4,410,340 kWh of renewable energy to the three cities, which will avoid the emission of 533,651 tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere, the equivalent of the emissions of 2.9 million kilometers by car.
In total, there are now 12 municipal councils in the Barcelona metropolitan area that are part of Grupo TERSA’s shareholders, in addition to the Barcelona City Council, with the aim of supply sustainable energy and benefit from TERSA’s energy advisory services. Pallejà, Santa Coloma de Cervelló and Torrelles de Llobregat join Santa Coloma de Gramenet, El Papiol, Castellbisbal, Barberà del Vallès, Esplugues de Llobregat and Sant Just Desvern, which will be added in 2023, and, in Sant Boi de Llobregat , Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Sant Vicenç dels Horts, which were added in 2022.
With these new additions to its shareholders, Grupo TERSA reaffirms its commitment to the generation and commercialization of renewable energy, and its commitment to consolidating its energy advisory services business line. These agreements are also a new example of the trust received from public authorities, and underline the company’s vocation for public service and its commitment to the environment and the energy transition.
Thanks to the new formations, TERSA Group now adds twelve metropolitan municipalities to its shareholders, in addition to the Barcelona City Council. In this way, it consolidates the trust it receives from public services and strengthens its range of services related to them renewable energies.
