DENMARK AT THE COP16 ON BIODIVERSITY, TO BE HELD IN CALI, COLOMBIA, FROM OCTOBER 21 TO NOVEMBER 1, 2024. A historic delegation to COP 16

For the first time, the Denmark she introduced herself to the COP Biodiversity with a commercial delegation of 26 companies, from the manufacturing, financial and consultancy sectors, in collaboration with the Ministry of the EnvironmentForeign Affairs and theDanish embassy in Colombia. This group, coordinated by State of Green and from the Scandinavian industry, wants to offer concrete solutions and expanding global partnerships in favor of biodiversity.

Public-private partnership for the environment

Participants, including manufacturers, financial institutions, NGOs and consultancies, demonstrate the growing commitment of Danish companies to environmental protection. The Minister of the Environment Magnus Heunicke will participate in the final days of the event, to demonstrate institutional support for a model she is promoting innovative and scalable actions in favor of nature.

The rapid loss of biodiversity caused by habitat destructiondai climate changes and overexploitation pose a significant risk to both nature and the global economy.

COP 16 offers one crucial stage so that governments, businesses and civil society can accelerate efforts to halt biodiversity loss and promote the sustainable use of natural resources. The delegation from Denmark, consisting of public and private stakeholdersaims to contribute to these global efforts by sharing expertise, tools and solutions to integrate biodiversity considerations.

The Danish delegation planned to explore opportunities for cooperation with international partnerswith an emphasis on sharing knowledge and promoting partnerships that can drive the global transition to more sustainable ecosystems. Denmark’s participation in COP16 underlines the country’s commitment to contribute global biodiversity goalsincluding the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Frameworkwhich aims to protect 30% of the world’s land and sea areas by 2030.
