Castilla-La Mancha meets with environmental organizations for the development of the Community’s environmental regulations

The regional government of Cartilla-La Mancha recently met with representatives of various environmental organizations who work in the Autonomous Community, with the aim of advancing regulatory developments in environmental matters

The government representatives appreciated that these groups conveyed their concern and interest in collaborating with the objective to address various issues such as related regulations with pig farms, the draft Administrative Simplification Law and the modification of the Forestry Law of Castilla-La Mancha.

The invaluable contribution of environmental groups

The Minister of Sustainable Development, Mercedes Gómez, held a working meeting this Wednesday with the representatives of three environmental organizations in the region Ecologists in Action, WWF and SEO/BirdLife.

“After the last meeting held in the Environmental Advisory Council (CAMA), they asked us for a meeting to be able to exchange points of view on issues that concern them “such as the draft Administrative Simplification Law, the regulations related to pig farms and the modification of the Forest Law of Castilla-La Mancha, to include a regional forestry Plan,” indicated Gómez, who was accompanied by the deputy minister of Environment, José Almodóvar; and the general director of Natural Environment and Biodiversity, Susana Jara.

In this sense, as the counselor has indicated, “we have put on the table that for the Administration it is of vital importance the conservation and protection of the environment of Castilla-La Mancha, as well as the legal certainty of all procedures.”

Finally, the counselor has grateful for the contributions made by conservation groups who have been represented by Miguel Ángel Hernández and Roberto Oliveros from Ecologistas en Acción; Juan Carlos Atienza from SEO/BirdLife.
