The hydrogen development company DH2 Energy has this 4 green hydrogen projects which are expected to contribute 1.5 GW to the province of Extremadura. These were presented during the Expoenergea fair that was recently held.
The developer of hydrogen renewable and independent producer DH2 Energy presented its four projects by green hydrogen on a large scale in Extremadura during the region’s leading energy event, the Expoenergea trade fair, held in Badajoz in November and sponsored by DH2 Energy. DH2 Energy presented its initiatives under development in Extremadura, which together represent an investment of 2,250 million euros.
DH2 Energy is committed to green hydrogen
These projects are all located in the province of Badajoz, with a total electrolysis capacity of 1.5 GW. In total, these projects represent a generation of more than 75,000 tons of renewable hydrogen per year.
DH2 Energy is the largest developer of energy projects renewable hydrogen production in Spain as a whole and also in Extremadura, according to the latest count of projects published by the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2).
“Extremadura is one of the autonomous communities with Greater potential for renewable hydrogen in Spain, because it has very good resources for its production, such as the large solar and water resources, in addition to the will to promote their use, both on the part of the Government of Extremadura and of the local authorities in the municipalities of those areas. in which DH2 Energy is present with its projects.
Extremadura has that too a favorable regulatory frameworkwith specific legislation to be promoted hydrogen renewable. In addition, part of the core hydrogen transport network that Enagás will build will be implemented in Extremadura. This national infrastructure will provide a major boost to this hydrogen sustainable for years to come,” said DH2 Energy General Manager Marcos López-Brea Baquero.
In Extremadura, DH2 Energy’s most advanced project under development is the Raviza plant, located in the municipalities of Hornachos, Puebla del Prior and Ribera del Fresno. Raviza will produce 25,000 tons per year by hydrogen renewable.
On the other hand, DH2 Energy has others 3 projects under development in Extremadura. The Badajoz 2 project, which will generate approximately 8,500 tons of renewable hydrogen per year, is located in the municipality of Mérida, while Badajoz 3, with a production of approximately 17,000 tons of hydrogen, hydrogen It is annually renewable and is located in the municipalities of Badajoz, Mérida and La Roca de la Sierra. Finally, Badajoz 4, whose production will reach 25,000 tons per year, is located in the same municipality of Badajoz.
DH2 Energy presented her in the context of the Expoenergea trade fair renewable hydrogen production under development in Extremadura before the authorities and institutions attended, explaining the energy benefits that their projects will bring.
