Gonvarri Solar Steel will supply 27 MW photovoltaic solar trackers in Llardecans and La Granadella (Spain)

Loose Solar trackers are advanced mechanical devices which are created to maximize efficiency in collecting solar radiation, as they can adjust their axes to precisely orient the photovoltaic panels according to the solar path and optimize collection.

Operation is simple and efficient: the panels remain perpendicular to the sun’s rays thereby maximizing energy production. But the photovoltaic modules are installed on a structure that allows them to make very precise turns calculated by the sensors, with the aim of capturing the greatest amount of sunlight during the day.

Solar Steel has announced an agreement to supply 27 MW of its new 2P solar trackers, TracSmarT+2P Compact, which the first project in Spain that will use this technology. The project will be developed in the municipalities of Llardecans and La Granadella, in eastern Spain, where more than 40,000 high-performance modules will be supported by Solar Steel’s 2P trackers. This power plant will prevent the emission of more than 13,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year.
