Iberian Congress of Water Management and Planning 2025: April 24 and 26 in Salamanca

«From shortage to the social and environmental reassignment of water»It is the motto of this new edition of the Iberian Congress, the thirteenth that will bring together researchers, professionals and social agents throughout the Iberian Peninsula and the world that contribute to achieve a paradigm shift in water management.

The urban water cycle faces great challenges, from the collection to sanitation, including the protection of sources, the use of regenerated water and urban sustainability. In Spain, the right to water is protected as a municipal public good.

Water: The most precious good

He XIII Iberian Congress of Water Management and Planning, Organized by the New Water Culture Foundation (FNCA), it will be held in Salamanca between February 24 and 26. Under the slogan ‘from the shortage to the social and environmental reallocation of water’, more than 150 investigating people in water themes in 15 countries will meet at the Archbishop Fonseca school of the University of Salamanca.

This new edition of the Biennial Congress is divided into four thematic areas:

  1. Challenges in the urban cycle from water to climate change.
  2. Water and agriculturedialogues on the interdependence between water and agricultural socioecosystems.
  3. Water landscapes and its inaplazable pending subject.
  4. Advanced governance of water in times of scarcity.

More than 160 investigations, From academic and social perspectives, they will nurture the discussion tables of a Congress in whose organization also participate in the University of Salamanca and IMDEA (Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies).
