Under the premise that it is essential to take care of the natural resources of our planet with the aim that future generations can enjoy and live in a better world, it is commemorates another edition of World Environmental Education Day.

Within the framework of the International Day of Environmental Education, which will take place on January 26, it has just been present the new Dictionary of climate change and ecological transition an innovative resource for the professional work of agents operating in areas related to climate change and ecological transition in Basque. This innovative resource is presented within the framework of the celebration of the International Day of Environmental Education.
He Climate change and the ecological transition cover a broad and transversal topic that involves terms from multiple disciplines. Although more and more concepts are emerging in this field, many of them are not yet included in reference databases and terminological dictionaries.
The main purpose of this new tool is gather and unify the specialized vocabulary in Basque that agents and institutions dedicated to climate change and ecological transition need. The result the Dictionary of climate change and ecological transitiona resource that consolidates this terminology and contributes to promote the use and guarantee the transmission of Basque in these areas.
The dictionary includes 228 terminology sheetseach one dedicated to a specific concept. These sheets present the equivalent terms proposed in Basqueas well as the corresponding in Spanish, French and Englishwhich also allows the user to perform searches based on said languages. In addition, each sheet incorporates a definition of the corresponding concept.
To facilitate your consultation, the terminology sheets are organized by themes: Climate and Climate Change; Climate Action; Mitigation; Adaptation; Equitable Transition; and agreements, texts and reference institutions.
The Dictionary of climate change and ecological transition has been developed following the quality standards of the UZEI Terminology and Lexicography Centeralso complying with the standards and recommendations of the Basque language authorities.
