“The Rigiocattolo”, an adventure to give a second life
“The Rigiocattolo” tells the story of three slightly run-down toys: the teddy bear Bruno, Nola the rainbow-colored toy piano and the brave one Tuffolinoa dilapidated pickup truck. These protagonists are given a second chance, thanks to Miloa local veteran robot.
The three protagonists will thus discover that the arrival at the laboratory “The Rigiocattolo” it will not be the end for them, but the beginning of a new adventure. Because broken toys are repaired and brought back to life. This magical laboratory, in reality, really exists, it is located in Campobasso and its name is The Rigiocattolo.
Thanks to a group of volunteers who, with passion, give a new life to old toys, showing children and their families the benefits ofcircular economy. Contrary to what one might think, not only shoes, objects and clothes can aspire to a new life but also toys, often broken and unused. The aim is to transmit, thanks also to a little magic, a message of hope for future generations where: nothing and no one is ever too old or too damaged to be recovered.
Playing with environmental education
The book is based on the principles of the circular economy, showing how the reuse and the repair are essential to reduce waste and safeguard the environment.
The author, Letizia Palmisanoenvironmental journalist, essayist and TV commentator, was inspired by the project “The Rigiocattolo”, precisely to create a fairy tale which, through the story of toys, educates young people to take care of the environment and reflect on their own consumption habits.

“The Rigiocattolo” is not just a children’s book, but a message aimed at all agesthanks to the simplicity of writing that combines fun and ecological awareness.
