When biodiversity takes flight in the skies of Rome
In the heart of Rome, between domes and bell towers, not only the beat of time and history does not resonate. There are also the birds of the birds who choose sacred monuments as a home. It is from this silent and poetic coexistence that is born “The Jubilee wings”the first illustrated map of nesting wild birds in churches and monuments along the Jubilant paths.
The project, curated by Pandion Edizioni with the support of Lipu/Birdlife Italia and other naturalistic bodies, is an invitation to rediscover Rome as a living city, where architectural beauty merges with the natural one. A vision that expands the gaze of the pilgrim and the tourist, proposing an experience of wonder capable of uniting art, faith and biodiversity.
A map for curious eyes and open hearts
Printed in the format of the official map of the Jubilee, “The Jubilee wings” Exhibition with illustrated traits and delicate colors the species that inhabit the sacred places: Rondoni, Gheppi, Falschi Pellegrini, Taccole. Creatures that, despite being an integral part of the city, often go unnoticed. Yet they are there, to remind us that every crack, every tower, every ravine can become refuge, nest, life.
Each basilica of the traditional Roman pilgrimage of the seven churches will be accompanied by a card dedicated to the species that nidify you, also accessible via QR code with multimedia insights. A bridge between paper and nature, among knowledge and amazement.
Urban biodiversity: a heritage to be protected
Despite the apparent grayness, the cities hold a surprising natural wealth. Urban trekking to meet nature
To accompany the launch of the map, seven urban trekking events and birdwatching will be organized, in correspondence with the seven Roman basilicas. Guided by expert zoologists, participants will be able to discover the city fauna, listen to migration, adaptation, resistance stories.
The highlight will be on June 7, on the occasion of the World Rondon Day e Jubilee of movements, of associations And of the new communities, a great event that will combine the scientific, spiritual and social soul of the project.
