The Nascar project is owned by a 100 x 100 capital company from Almería, called Innde Cetaer, which has reached a new milestone in its recognized effort to be the largest by the fourth quarter of 2027. first Spanish producer of e-methanol based on green hydrogen.
At the proposal of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining, the Government Council of the Government of Andalusia assigned it this week to the Project Accelerator Unit (UAP) due to its strategic relevance for the socio-economic, industrial and technological development of the region through to transform the Retamares area of the Tabernas Desert into the epicenter of a sustainable energy revolution.
Contribute to transport decarbonization challenge and become an economic and social boost for the province of Almería by creating new opportunities, employment and prosperity with 52 direct and 150 indirect jobs in the operational phase and another 350 during the construction of the facilities.
The Cetaer Hub will make it possible to produce 38,000 tons of green methanol every year, a low-carbon ecological fuel that will shape the future of maritime, air and land communications, such as more efficient alternative to current fuel oil and other hydrocarbonsin the cleanest possible way, exclusively from renewable energy sources: producing 7,600 tons of hydrogen and absorbing 67,160 tons of biogenic CO2.
The commissioning of a 54 megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant for own use will mean a different story boost to the circular economy and the ecological origin of pure raw materials This makes Innde Cetaer’s Nascar project a national benchmark for the transition to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy system.
Investment of more than €250 million
The replacement of fossil methanol with renewable green methanol is an important step saving CO2 emissions akin to eliminating thousands of cars from circulation, reducing millions of gallons and supplying energy to thousands of homes. With an investment of 261 million euros, Innde Cetaer’s innovative initiative has all technical feasibility and economic profitability studies, as well as the necessary permits for its upcoming realization on site.
Nascar Project has passed all stages of research, writing, design and processing and has placed itself at the forefront of the renewable energy sector because it is about to reach “ready to build”. which would be the previous step towards the construction of the infrastructure in the first quarter of 2026.
With the assignment to the Project Accelerator Unit, Innde Cetaer is giving new impetus to the development of its project for which it received a favorable evaluation and a subsidy of 15 million euros from the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), in the context of the H2 Pioneers Plan Incentive Program.
The Almería-based SME has joined the major multinationals in the energy sector by receiving financial support from the NextGenerationEU funds thanks to the strength of its proposal for mass production of e-methanol and continues to lead in this segment by being one of the first companies with an initiative in development that has already passed the various stages of technical and economic feasibility (FEL2) and will immediately face its ‘ready to build’ (RTB) in the future. third and final phase of engineering and construction EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction).
Innde Cetaer signed an agreement with one of the world leaders technology and construction in the energy transition sectorTécnicas Reunidas, and has ensured that the Nascar project has the certificate and additional validation from one of the most recognized consultancies, FI Group España, leader in the financing and management of R&D&I.
After a detailed analysis of both the basis of the IDAE Pioneros Plan and its business scope, FI Group agrees with Técnicas Reunidas on the business opportunities and feasibility of a breakthrough energy infrastructure in Spain. The project will be developed in several phases: design, contracting, construction, commissioning and marketing. The future Cetaer Hub factory will use advanced technology, including polymer membrane electrolyzers from Siemens and atmospheric water collection machines from Andalusian company Aquaer to reduce the water footprint.
No fuels®: Registered trademark
Green hydrogen will be produced from water and solar energy and biogenic CO2 will come from local industry emissions, also making a decisive contribution to the absorption of greenhouse gases. There is no content sulfur and the quality of e-methanol, one hundred percent renewablewill be much higher than that of fossil fuels, which represents a great opportunity for the socio-economic, industrial and technological development of the region.
The initiators of the SME have been working on research into a unique formula for more than five years production of this synthetic chemical compoundclean and sustainable, which will be one of the key vectors in the decarbonization of transport, which they call with the registered trademark No fuels®. An innovative solution that fits in with Andalusia’s new energy scenario and the current energy transition policy and the fight against climate change.
The expected growth of the The demand for green methanol is so importantwhich is expected to be the driving force behind the expansion of the future factory so that it can reach a production of more than 300,000 tons by 2030.
