They also promote the social change of attitudes, values and behavioral habits necessary to move towards sustainability.
The Citizen Science implies the voluntary participation of general public (formed or not in science), in organized scientific activities. These activities range from the approach of questions and data collection and their interpretation, to the commitment of the general public in scientific research activities.
Volunteer and awareness
The Department of Rural Development and Environment, through the General Directorate of Environment, He has published in the BON the call for aid for education and environmental awareness projects, volunteering Environmental and citizen science by 2025. This line of subsidies, endowed with a total of 331,827 euros, is aimed at Navarra non -governmental associations and organizations with the aim of promoting initiatives that contribute to the improvement of the environment.

As collected by the bases of the call, actions related to the following categories will be financed. Under environmental education projects, initiatives aimed at promoting the knowledge and environmental awareness in individuals and communitiespromoting actions that allow to face current and future environmental problems.
In addition, within volunteering with They can perform actions that contribute to mitigate the negative impact of human activity on the environmentpromoting the conservation of biodiversity, ecosystems and natural resources. Finally, in citizen science programs will be subsidized in which citizens actively participate in scientific research, providing knowledge, resources or collaborating in the analysis and monitoring of environmental phenomena.
All these initiatives must be developed in the territory of the Navarra Foral Community and address environmental themes such as: sustainable forest management, conservation and restoration of natural spaces; Protection of flora and wildlife and their habitats; waste, water, responsible consumption, circular economy and climate change; renewable energy and energy savings; sustainable mobility; Organic agriculture and extensive livestock and environmental quality in urban environments. The deadline for submitting applications, mandatory telematically, will end on March 23, through the corresponding card of the Catalog of Procedures of the Government of Navarra.
