Plenitude starts a new solar power plant in Villarino de los Aires (Salamanca).

The new solar power plant of the company Plenitude is located in Salamanca. It is considered one of the largest in the province of Castilla y León. And from the city of Villarino de los Aires it will generate more than 400 GWh per year.

Plenitude has started construction work in Villarino de los Aires (Salamanca, Spain) of a solar power plant, which will installed capacity of 220 MW and it will be one of the largest in all of Castilla y León. Today’s foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by representatives of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, the Municipal Council and the company.

The park will be developed on an area of ​​approximately 286 hectares and will be connected to the national transport network through the Villarino de los Aires connection with via an underground medium-voltage line from 3.2 km.

The facility will have 365,300 bifacial modules and produce 400,000 MWh of electricity per year. The factory will be completed in 2025 with the help of Sterling&Wilson, one of the largest photovoltaic construction companies worldwidetogether with other locally relevant companies.

To protect the territory, the company has also implemented a number of measures, such as, for example, the preservation and relocation of rural huts between the modules, the conservation of natural water channels that cross the area, the installation of permeable hunting fences around the site and active coordination with neighboring farmers to ensure the compatibility of the project with the use of the land.

“The Villarino solar project is one virtuous example of integration with the territory. With the start of works in Villarino, Plenitude is strengthening its presence in Castilla y León, where it already has a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 13 MW. Plenitude currently operates over 440 MW installed capacity of photovoltaic and wind energy in Spain with factories next to Castilla y León, also in Galicia, La Rioja, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia.

In addition, it currently has projects under construction totaling approximately 1 GW in Andalusia (Seville and Granada), Castilla y León (Salamanca) and Extremadura (Badajoz). Parallel to this is the company is working on more than 2 GW of capacity with new projects in various phases of development.
