“Sea day”: students on board with the Guardia di Finanza

On 11 April, on the occasion of the “Sea day”the Guardia di Finanza He widened the doors of his aeronaventies to hundreds of pupils and students throughout Italy. The initiative, established on February 13, 2018 with the new decree on the Nautical Code, offered a concrete opportunity to tell the role of the body in protecting the sea and raising awareness of young people on the issues of legality and the environment.

The main objective: to turn on the curiosity of the students and make known the work of the aeronaval component of the yellow flames. The military illustrated their institutional activities, the values ​​that guide the body and its traditions, strongly rooted in respect of the marine environment.

The Guardia di Finanza: a concrete commitment in safeguarding the sea

The organized activities highlighted the concrete commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in safeguarding the sea. The boys participated in training meetings and guided tours on board the naval units. They were able to touch the new technologies used by hand, observe the operational skills of the means and get to know the military work closely.

The students – many of whom were future captains, machine directors or naval logistics employees, is written in the note – they discovered the role of the Guardia di Finanza as the only one “Police force” with exclusive functions at sea. The events in Rimini, Livorno and Trieste

In Rimini, two events in particular caught the attention of the students. The first was a simulation of recovery of waste in the canal port, conducted by the divers nucleus. The second, the release at sea of ​​a marine turtle edited by the Cetacea Foundation. Both activities underlined the importance of the protection of marine ecosystem.

The students of Livorno and Porto Santo Stefano were able to observe the ecological transition process of the body closely. They visited the new ones “Green” naval unitsincluding the lookouts go 312 and go 318. These boats, with hybrid propulsion, represent a decisive step towards a reduced environmental impact.

In Trieste, however, the Guardia di Finanza participated in the event “Small eco-explorers for a clean sea”promoted by the amateur sports club “Northeast pond”. The protagonists were the children of the municipal equal kindergarten “Blue dolphin”.

The children witnessed a practical activity of recognition and separation of the waste collected in the waters of the Barcola Riviera. An educational experience that introduced children to the values ​​of sustainability and respect for the sea.
