Spain drained, filled with the energy the world is looking for: 4,000 tons sprout from the underground

The world is eager to find a fuel that will keep it moving indefinitely. And the emptied Spain is able to meet that need because it is full of that energy. In fact, 4,000 tons come from underground, and here we tell you all the details.

Burgos is at the forefront of green energy projects

Europe is doing everything it can to become the first green continent in the world, for which it is carrying out projects in various regions. And specifically in Spain, Burgos has become a focus for the development of clean fuels through various projects.

One of these is financed by the European Commission, it is the so-called Hydrogen Valley of Castilla y León, which aims to produce at least 4,000 tons of hydrogen per year. The other relevant business in progress is the hydrogen and ammonia plant to be built in Villalonquéjar.

The production of hydrogen and green ammonia is increased

Spain has proven to be one of the European countries most interested in decarbonizing their industries and transport. In fact, the entire country is highly motivated to implement various types of plans, including the construction of centers engaged in clean energy production.

And of all the regions, Burgos is the one that has the greatest potential to carry out this type of business. Because government agencies have joined forces with private companies to submit projects to various European organizations in order to obtain the necessary financing.

One of the selected projects is the Hydrogen Valley program of Castilla y León, to which the European Commission has allocated 20 million euros. And it will bring benefits not only to that city, but to the entire region, because it includes the production of three plants for the production of green hydrogen, which will be located in different places.

It is expected that they will be operational in 2029 and can produce at least 4,000 tons per year. Another center dedicated to clean energy generation is located in Villalonquéjar, which is very advanced, as the environmental impact assessment has already been approved.

This complex was accepted into the European H2 Pioneers program because of its economic characteristics, the applications that the products will have and because it is technologically scalable. This plant will produce hydrogen through the electrolysis process, and there will be a hydrogen generator to supply it.

A different part of the fuel will be used for public transport and freight vehicles production of green ammonia that is supplied to the chemical industry. With all this clean energy, Burgos is sure to be declared one of the first zero-emission cities in Europe.

Green transport will be a reality for Burgos

Numerous public and private organizations in Burgos are working together to implement numerous plans that make this possible build specialized centers for the production of clean energy. For this reason, several factories are being built to produce hydrogen.

In one of these places, production is expected to be about 4,000,000 tons, which could meet the needs of public transportation for seven years. As for green ammonia, initial production would be 18,000 tons, which is expected to increase to 54,000 tons, to supply the chemical industry.

Finally, Burgos has all the potential to become the capital of green energy in Spain, and perhaps even a benchmark for the world. Well, only with some of the plans currently being implemented will it soon be able to meet the needs of public transport and chemical companies.
