Spain’s water reserve according to MITECO is 29,466 cubic hectometers

The water reserve Spain is at 52.6% of its total capacity. The reservoirs currently store 29,466 cubic hectometers (hm³) of water, increasing in the last week by 512 cubic hectometers (0.9% of the current total capacity of the reservoirs).

The water reserve by areas according to the MITECO is the following:

  • Eastern Cantabrian is at 82.2%
  • Western Cantabrian at 71.8%
  • Miño-Sil at 60.5%
  • Galicia Coast at 87.4%
  • Internal basins of the Basque Country 100%
  • Duero at 66.2%
  • Cut at 54.3%
  • Guadiana at 41.3%
  • Red, Odiel and Piedras at 82.1%
  • Guadalete-Barbate at 28.6%
  • Guadalquivir at 35.3%
  • Andalusian Mediterranean Basin at 29%
  • Safe at 21.1%
  • Júcar at 49.9%
  • Ebro at 75.7%
  • Internal basins of Catalonia at 33.1%

Precipitation has been abundant on the Atlantic slope and scarce on the Mediterranean slope. The maximum occurred in Vigo (A) with 157.5 mm (157,5 l/m²).
