Storage and hydrogen summit 2025

The Spanish Photovoltaic Union (UNEF) recently announced the celebration of the III Storage and hydrogen summitwhich will take place between February 11 and 12, 2025 at the Novotel Madrid Center, located at Calle de O’Donnell 53, in the Salamanca district of Madrid.

During these two days, experts from the energy sector will meet based on debates and round tables with the aim of discussing the most relevant topics related to the energy storage and green hydrogen.

III Storage and hydrogen summit

On February 11 and 12, the Spanish Photovoltaic Union (UNEF) will organize the III Storage and Hydrogen Summit at the Novotel Madrid Center, where the main storage issues will be addressed by a large number institutional representation and relevant actors in the sector.

The long-awaited conference will have the notable participation of the Undersecretary of Energy of the Ministry of Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), Joan Griozard, and the Deputy Director General of Electric Energy of MITECO, Carlos Redondo, who will delve into the details on newly announced capacity mechanisms.

The summit will also delve into other key topics of particular interest related to energy storage, such as the regulatory situation both at national level and in the different autonomous communities, the safety of industrial batteries or the challenges and opportunities of projects in the areas and their ecological integration and with society.

Important personalities will attend the meeting, such as Alipio García, General Director of Energy Transition of the Government of Castilla – La Mancha; Jesús Ferrero, Deputy General Manager of Renewable Energies of MITECO; Fátima García Señán, Deputy General Manager of Storage and Flexibility of MITECO; Manuel Larrasa, Secretary General of Energy of the Junta de Andalucía; Rocío Prieto, Energy Director of the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC); Tomás Domínguez, Director of Operation Programming at Red Eléctrica or Pedro Basagoiti, Director of Technology, Innovation and New Developments at OMIE.

The conference will also present the UNEF Storage Excellence Seal, which aims to establish standards for best practices in the development of these facilities, and promote investments in these technologies with socio-economic, environmental, circular economy and governance.
