Seif 2025: the sea as a bridge between the Mediterranean communities

From 27 to 29 June, the island of Elba is preparing to live three days in the name of the sea with the seventh edition of SEIF – Sea Essence International Festivalwhich for 2025 changes skin and spreads, involving the whole island. Promoted by the Acqua dell’Elba Foundation, the International Festival dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the sea embraces a new format and turns into Seif – Elba Island, with events that will touch the municipalities of Capoliveri, Portoferraio and Marciana Marina.

This year the main theme will be that of “Mediterranean community”an invitation to reflect on how the sea unites peoples, cultures, stories and traditions. Not a simple festival, but a real laboratory widespread of ideas, experiences, art, science and civil participation.

A sea of ​​experiences

The Seif 2025 program moves between education, scientific dissemination, art and entertainment, creating connections between territories, citizens and institutions. The Mattinée will be dedicated to educational courses and workshops for children, afternoons to insights and meetings, evenings to cultural events and artistic performances.

Among the most anticipated guests, Vincenzo Schettini, physicist, musician and author of the very popular popular project “The physics we like”which will animate the evening of June 28 in Portoferraio with a show that intertwines music, science and entertainment.

Seif expands: a festival for the whole Elba

The big novelty of this edition is the widespread character of the Festival. For the first time, Seif abandons his historic single location of Marciana Marina to involve the entire island, in a spirit of community and sharing.

On 27 June it starts from Capoliveri, with an evening-event full of words, sounds and images dedicated to the sea, in which the Seif 2025 award will also be awarded to projects that distinguished in environmental protection.

June 28 will be the turn of Portoferraio, with the exhibition “Mediterranean community” And the performance of Schettini.

Finally, on June 29, the Festival will land in Marciana Marina, where the closure will be celebrated with a concert and the presentation of the new stages of “The path of essence”.

Ways and blue schools: the sea lives, studies, protects itself

Seif is also an opportunity to celebrate important projects started in recent years and in continuous growth. As “The path of essence”the coastal path that winds over 66 kilometers between natural beauty and history, managed by the Foundation in collaboration with the Tuscan archipelago national park.

And like the project “Blue Schools”which saw Elba become the first European area in which all schools are certified as blue schools, thanks to school programs focused on the education at the ocean. From 2025, the initiative will extend to the entire Tuscan Archipelago.
