In the thirteen key words, the essence of the festival
From the rooms of the Muse, the Trento Science Museum, and “cultural sanctuary”, designed by Renzo Pianoin which the architectural lines evoke the peaks of the Dolomitesthe artistic director Mario Brunelloexplains the essence of the event.
Quoting the composer’s words Carl Ruggles, the cellist elevates the speech to a visionary manifesto. “There are infinite heights to scale and depths to set to music.” he proclaims, evoking the very essence of the musical experience at altitude.
The thirteen key words whispered by the master, “listening, Dolomites, sounds, open spaces, silence, light, high lands, walking, commitment, sharing, respect, accessibility and tradition”resonate in the air like notes of eternal harmony, uniting past and present in a symphonic exploration of the senses.
This is the essence of the festival: not a mere exhibition of talents, but a thoughtful celebration, where every artist, every place, every note, every aria, is carefully chosen to weave a profound dialogue with the mountains. Music, therefore, becomes a bridge between man and nature, a voice that sings the eternal beauty of the Dolomites. But there’s more.
Accessibility for all: an inclusive experience among the peaks
This year, the Festival of the sounds of the Dolomites is committed to ensure accessibility also to people with motor and hearing disabilities, offering them the opportunity to actively participate in events thanks to inclusive means and tools.
Thanks to these, as specially designed bikes and audio-tactile systems Subpac, supplied by the Trentino company Re-Moove, the festival opens up to a wider and more diversified audience.
Specifically, Subpac audio-tactile systems, through special wearable backpacks, allow people with hearing disabilities to perceive the vibrations of music directly on the body, transforming the musical experience into a tangible and inclusive emotion.
All festival events are free and open to anyone who wishes to participate, committing to respect the tacit pact of sharing and inclusion. Participation thus becomes a transformative journey, an experience of discovery and sharing that changes not only those who participate, but also enriches the cultural and social fabric of the community. But let’s get to the appointments.
The dates of the event
The CEO of Trentino Marketing, Maurizio Rossini, underlines the strategic choice to start the event at the end of summer (from 28 August to 29 September). This time shift not only relieves the pressure of tourism on the mountains during the busiest season, but also aims to promote the beauty of the “low season“, when tourist presences are lower, while still guaranteeing high quality services for visitors.
Mario Brunello shares this vision, explaining that the goal is not only to satisfy tourist desires, but to offer an authentic and engaging cultural experience.
