THIS INITIATIVE, PROMOTED BY LAV IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NATIONAL NOTARY COUNCIL, REPRESENTS AN IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITY TO RAISE AWARENESS AND INFORM THE PUBLIC ABOUT HOW LEGACIES CAN BE TRANSFORMED INTO CONCRETE ACTS OF LOVE TOWARD FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS

Legacies Week to give a future to the animals we love

The Anti-Vivisection League (LAV), founded in 1977, is one of the most important Italian environmental associations, always committed to protecting animal rights and promoting a culture based on respect for life in all its forms.

Recognized by the state as a moral body and a non-profit organization of social benefit, LAV fights against all forms of animal exploitation and fights for their well-being through concrete initiatives, legislative campaigns and aid projects. In this context, the Legacy Week was created as a fundamental initiative to raise public awareness of the importance of the will as an instrument of solidarity and generosity.

From October 7 to 12the association invites everyone to participate in a series of free events organized in several Italian cities that offer the opportunity to understand how a legacy can be transformed in a gesture of love that transcends the boundaries of time.

Importance of the initiative

Many people tend to view making a will as a complex or distant action, sometimes feeling that they find it difficult to deal with such a delicate subject. In reality, making a will is an act of great responsibility that offers the opportunity to protect not only your loved ones, but also the causes and values in which you deeply believe.

Choosing a donation to LAV therefore means contributing in a concrete way to the protection of life and enables the association to continue its fight for animal rights. These donations allow LAV to intervene directly to save thousands of creatures from abusive conditions desolation.

In short, a solidarity legacy is not just a generous gesture or a symbol of love, but a real investment for the future, guaranteeing hope and lasting support to many vulnerable beings.

Martha’s story: an eternal love that endures in the hearts of animals

Marta she is a woman who has dedicated her life to animals and finds comfort and affection in them even in the most difficult moments of her existence. After her marriage, she moved to Italy, where she lived in different cities with her husband and her four-legged friends.

When her life partner died, the pain was enormous. Martha, struck by this loss, found herself in a moment of deep confusion. However, her story of rebirth began thanks to a chance encounter: one day when she went to the bar to get coffee, she came across a flyer looking for volunteers for a cat shelter. This small coincidence changed the course of his life.

She decided to spend some of her free time caring for the shelter’s cats, going three times a week for more than a decade. That dedication, which was initially a way to fill the void left by the loss of her husband, turned into a real mission. From the cattery, Martha welcomed Filippo and Romeo, two cats who immediately found a new home full of love. As the years passed, his family expanded with the arrival of two dogs and four cats, all growing out of stories of abandonment or hardship.

A dog is forever

Among them Luna, a sweet dog rescued by a kennel in Sicilysucceeded in rekindling Martha’s desire to care for other animals, after the painful loss of her beloved dog Oliver. This encounter reminded her that even in the darkest moments, there is always room for new beginnings full of love and devotion.

For Martha, ensuring a peaceful future for animals is a priority. She has been a member of LAV for over twenty years and has decided to donate a legacy to the association and join the project “A doghouse forever”.

With this choice, she knows that when she is gone, her furry friends will be safe and cared for with the same love she always gave them. «I want to know that my animals will be loved even when I am gone.”he says, finding in LAV a guarantee of peace of mind.

The story of Fabrizia and Ginger: an encounter that changed two lives

Fabrizia she has always lived surrounded by animals, especially those that emerged from difficult stories of abandonment. When her husband became ill and subsequently died, Fabrizia’s life was shaken by deep pain.

Just at that difficult moment, Ginger left, a kitten without his own “human mother”came into her life thanks to the program “Forever a doghouse”.

Mrs. Antonella, the previous owner of Ginger and the other two cats, Kiri and Dodi, had provided in her will that LAV would care for her beloved animals upon her death. When Antonella died, the promise was kept.

Ginger came into Fabrizia’s life as an unexpected gift. Even though I had seen hundreds of photos of animals up for adoption, it was love at first sight with Ginger. «I immediately fell in love with it”says Fabrizia, recalling the moment she decided to meet him in person and adopt him immediately. «Without him, I don’t think I could have overcome this difficult moment.”he confesses.

Now Ginger lives peacefully in his new home, enjoying the sunny days on the balcony and the morning hugs that you can never miss.

As for the project, «it is a wonderful initiative”he underlines, explaining how LAV followed the adoption process with great seriousness and attention, demonstrating a genuine commitment to ensuring the welfare of the animals. Ginger, with her sweetness and need for family life, found a new home in Fabrizia, and together they created a bond that mutually enriched their lives.
