They succeed in converting trees into energy generators: it is a milestone for humanity

In the middle of the energy transition, They manage to convert trees into energy generators. It is a milestone for humanity as important as the material the atmosphere threatens to absorb and replace trees with CO2. Trees play a crucial role in the fight against climate change and keep the global climate in balance. First of all, it’s worth keeping in mind that trees are natural carbon sinks.

This means that absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the most important greenhouse gases. It is stored in their stems, leaves and roots. By absorbing this gas, trees help reduce the amount of this harmful gas in the atmosphere, which in turn slows global warming.

According to the website of the Water Institute“It is estimated that the world’s forests absorb approximately one-third of the CO2 emissions produced by humans each year.”

In addition, trees also play a crucial role in replenishing aquifers. They retain water during rainstorms, a property that causes trees to slowly seep water through the soil, replenishing underground freshwater reserves.

In turn, trees regulate the planet’s temperature. By providing shade and releasing water through transpiration, trees can help cool surrounding areas and mitigate the effects of global warming.

They turn trees into energy generators

A new project seeks to maximize the potential of trees. You want to turn them into generators wind energy without damaging them, taking advantage of their natural movement generated by the wind. Trees and forests are a relevant natural resource because of the role they play in preserving biodiversity, stabilizing local ecosystems and mitigating climate change. However, there is something they have not been able to do until now: generate electricity.

A project called Concept-made creations aims to convert trees into producers of wind energy without changing or damaging the natural structure. This perspective would generate combining renewable energy conserving natural resources in a way never seen before.

The concept uses a linear generator connected to the trunk of the tree. This device, which contains a shaft with permanent magnets and hand-wound coils, generates electricity through the movement of the branches generated by the wind.

The branches of the tree are attached to ropes that are responsible for transferring the tree kinetic energy to a 3D printed rotating system. This method transforms movement into… electrical energy.

The key aspects of this proposal are natural movement, optimized efficiency and adaptability. In the first, the movements of the trunk and branches, such as oscillation and bending, are used to produce energy.

Similarly, in the second, the generator is designed to maximize the transformation of energy with precisely wound coils and a gear mechanism that extends the movement. Regarding the latter, several generators and branches can be connected to one tree to increase the yield energy generation.

Trees are rising in level: now they are also energy generators

Although the project is still in a proof of concept phase, the first prototype is showing optimal results. The aim of the initiative is to create collaborations with other healthcare experts renewable energy to perfect the design and explore new applications.

The current system still presents challenges, such as improvements in efficiency and adaptability to different tree species and climatic conditions. Moreover, it will be crucial to analyze the economic viability of the technology and its long-term impact.

With a special initiative, they succeed in transforming the trees power generators. It is a milestone for humanity comparable to the ‘artificial leaf’ that produces oxygen everywhere: in this way they will turn buildings into trees.
