In winter, it is not common for pre-fire warnings to be initiated if certain conditions do not occur that worsen pre-existing situations, such as prolonged drought, system failures or general negligence. These situations can cause forest fires.
To alleviate and avoid these situations, the Generalitat Valenciana, in accordance with Decree 163/1998, has developed a special plan against the risk of forest fires. He thinks about it himself both actions in emergency situations caused by fire and actions in pre-emergency situations, which are laid down in the Preventive Supervision Plan.
Pre-emergency fire warning
The Regional Secretary of Security and Emergencies, Irene Rodríguez, reported on the most important issues issues discussed at the 1/12 CECOPI meetingin which the Minister of Emergency Situations and the Interior, Juan Carlos Valderrama, and the government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, participated.

The CECOPI spokesperson explained that during the meeting “all the work carried out by the different services in the emergency situation was discussed, as well as the general condition of pre-emergency and emergency situations that we have today in the Valencian Community.”
In that sense, CECOPI has done just that discussed the evolution of yesterday’s wind episode (Saturday). During the day, “quite strong winds were recorded throughout the province of Castellón, even in the south of the province of Alicante,” said Irene Rodríguez.

As for meteorology, There are no longer current warnings for wind and coastal phenomena throughout the Valencian Community. But the regional secretary has noted that “the wind, which was blowing from the west, will come from the north today and that, as we said yesterday, will cause a very significant drop in temperatures.”
As he recalled, “yesterday all municipal authorities and intervention services that could be affected by this situation were informed, so that they can communicate this not only to their interveners to take the relevant decisions in this regard, but also so that they be able to convey advice to the population and issues that may be of interest to them”.
According to Irene Rodríguez, they are temperature drops “which, if they occur, will start today, but will mainly start at night.” On this issue, the CECOPI spokesperson expressed “maximum caution, especially in the areas of light, heating installations, both electric, network overload, which can cause fireor if it concerns combustion, also through the emission of gases. We must have maximum prevention in this regard and avoid incidents,” he stressed.
The Regional Secretary of Emergency Situations and Home Affairs CECOPI has detailed that “Yesterday we were at pre-emergency level 3 of bushfire risk and we have already had small outbreaks of vegetation fires, especially very close to roads, suggesting that these could be caused by throwing cigarette butts out of car windows.”
serious consequences
And in that sense he remembered “the prohibition of this behavior and its serious consequences what it can cause, especially to the environment and to people, as some of these fires forced or hindered traffic flow on the roads because they were very close.”
“These were small fires and action was taken quickly,” explains Irene Rodríguez of CECOPI, “but we want to highlight this issue because it is very important,” she assured. He has also warned that “burning is prohibited when we are at pre-emergency levels 3 and 2” and has insisted that “we are at significant risk of forest fires”.
Finally, he summarized the other issues raised by CECOPI, noting that Iberdrola “has reported that today, this morning, a fault in a high-voltage line in an area of Chivathat all teams had been mobilized and that they hoped to resolve it quickly.”
Irene Rodríguez has clarified that “these are other consequences that, probably due to the wind, could prevent these types of incidents.”
Regarding the work related to the dana, the spokesperson of CECOPI has confirmed that “the device continues without further incident the work of sludge extraction in garages and cellars, the removal of fields and the issue of street cleaning, which we discussed yesterday already talked about. much more intensive work than allow yourself to bear that discomfort, the floating dustand that is one of the issues that will be addressed with more intensity from now on.”
