Veolia strengthens its position in clean energy generation with the integration of the Catalan company ‘Imartec’

Las Clean energy is characterized by not polluting or generating waste. Its use has emerged as an alternative that can provide economic and environmental benefits. It is usually confused with renewable energy sources, but in reality some clean energy sources are finite and the production of some renewable energy sources can cause pollution, so they cannot be considered synonyms.

There are also clean energies that come from finite sources, and above all, there are many clean energy sources that are also renewable. These are called green energies. and these mainly include solar photovoltaics, wind energy, green hydrogen, hydropower, geothermal energy, biomass and/or tidal energy.

Veolia is expanding

Veolia, a global leader in environmental solutions, announces the integration of Imartec, a Catalan energy services company specialized in the development of EPC projects, mainly for the installation of biomass and solar power plants, with a focus on the agricultural and industrial sectors. An operation that is part of the new Veolia strategic program, GreenUpto accelerate the implementation of affordable and replicable solutions around the world that decontaminate, decarbonize and regenerate our resources. In line with this program, Veolia aims to promote energy efficiency projects and local low-carbon energy production.

Imartec, founded in 2010, mainly operates from its own branches industrial factory located in Lleidawith customers in Catalonia, the Valencian Community and Aragon. The company is active in the renewable energy sector, mainly in the advanced thermal engineering sectorintegrating technology for the energy conversion of biomass from the forestry industry and wood treatment, agriculture, the food industry, specific crops and cleaning the urban environment. The services include complete projects, from engineering and design to installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance.

Imartec also has a specialized internal research centerthat studies and conducts combustion tests for solid biomass conventional and unconventional kind. The company has completed more than 250 projects, totaling 80 MWt of different solutions. On the other hand, it has completed 150 self-consumption solar projects in the industry, amounting to more than 18 MW of installed capacity, and has consolidated itself as a reference in the field of renewable energy.
